Gabriel Campanario and the Art of Locational Sketching

Nicht übersetzt:

Gabriel Campanario is one of the most distinguished and prolific contemporary special artists, combining visual and written journalism. His career spans two decades, working for newspapers in Barcelona, Lisbon, California, and Virginia. At present he is working as a staff artist, at The Seattle Times, where he is publishing the very lively weekly column “Seattle Sketcher”.  Campanario became widely known by his international on-spot sketching initiative. He is the founder of the very popular Urban Sketchers Movement. After seeing an increasing number of people sharing their location drawings in the blogosphere, Campanario started a flickr group in November 2007. A year later, he decided to expand the flickr initiative with a by-invitation group blog where correspondents would commit to posting on a regular basis and also sharing the stories behind the sketches.  At the beginning of this year he published The Art of Urban Sketching, a comprehensive guide and a showcase of location drawings by sketchers around the world.  A German edition will be available soon.
