Cartoonist and storyteller Ben Katchor partners with composer and singer Mark Mulcahy to create two, one-act operas: Memorial City, in which an East coast urban center is overwhelmed by a mania for memorial commemoration; and The Imaginary War Crimes Tribunal (world premiere), which tells the story of a compulsive video game player and the thrill of “victimless” violence.
